Tattoo Aftercare Instructions
Proper aftercare is essential to ensure your tattoo heals properly. We provide detailed aftercare instructions and can answer any questions you may have.
- Leave Derm Shield bandage on a minimum of 24hrs or up to 5 days.
If using plastic wrap, remove after 2-4 hours.
Then wash tattoo thoroughly with unscented soap and warm water.
Let dry and allow time for your tattoo to breath.
- Clean your tattoo with unscented soap 2-3 times a day. Apply a small amount of aftercare product of your choice.
- You may use a unscented Lotion, Aquaphor, or a tattoo ointment, one that you are no allergic to. Always apply ointment with clean hands and never place fingers back in ointment after touching your tattoo.
- Your tattoo will take 2-3 weeks to heal. During this time do not pick or scratch your tattoo. Let whatever peels off to fall off freely and naturally.
- Avoid swimming pools, hot tubs, or any natural occurring body of water.
Ex: Oceans, Rivers or Lakes while your tattoo is healing
- Avoid direct sunlight or tanning during the healing process.
The healing process may take longer or shorter depending on each person and the application of the tattoo. Remember your tattoo is an open wound so treat it as such.
